
Udupi, January 28, 2026: In a rare and startling incident, a bangude (mackerel) fish was found to be alive even after being cut at the Malpe fishing harbour here.
According to sources, a customer had purchased bangude fish from a woman fish vendor at the harbour and asked her to cut it. After cutting the fish, the vendor placed the pieces in a tub, where one of the fish pieces was seen moving, indicating that it was still alive.
The unusual sight left the fish vendors and others present at the harbour shocked. A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention.
