Rape case of minor : Accused granted conditional bail

Puttur, Nov 20, 2021: Kudkady Narayana Rai, an RSS and BJP leader who was arrested under POCSO and SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act on the charges of raping and impregnating a Dalit girl  of Badagannur village, has been granted conditional bail by the Fifth Additional District Sessions Court of Puttur.

 

A complaint was earlier lodged against Rai on the charges of continuously raping the girl who was working in his house. The girl had later delivered a baby. The accused was arrested after the victim gave a statement before the magistrate. His anticipatory bail plea was earlier rejected by the court.

The police who had initially arrested a cousin of the girl in the case, had later arrested the accused  who surrendered before the court. The Dalit organisations too had staged a protest demanding his arrest.
