Ramanath Rai, MLA inaugurates voters’ enrollment division

Mangalore, Aug 24, 2012: B. Ramanath Rai, president of the district Congress and MLA for Bantwal, inaugurated the voters’ enrollment division in the office of the district Congress on August 24, Friday. 

Speaking on the occasion, he said that DK is the first district to inaugurate a computerized voters’ enrollment division in the Vidhana Sabha constituency.

Pointing out the fact that voters’ names have been disappearing from the voters’ list, he said that voters’ enrollment must be taken seriously. He said that this is a good opportunity to identify voters and enroll them. 

Speaking about the future plans of the Congress, he said that the party plans to enroll more young people into the party, adding that the party will start National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) in all colleges in the district in a bid to get students interested in politics. 

B. A. Moideen, Congress leader, said that enrolling voters is an excellent program, adding that it gives voters’ a chance to get a registered document. 

Congress leaders MLA Abhayachandra Jain, Praveenchandra Alva, Mithun Rai, Sadashiv Ullal, J R Lobo, Ivan D’Souza, Kodijal Ibrahim, Nagendra Kumar, Kallige Tharanath Shetty, and many others were also present.
