Mangaluru, Feb 17, 2026: Explosive details have emerged from the medical report in connection with the case of a teenager’s death due to a gunshot in Ramakunja. The report has confirmed that the boy shot his father before dying by suicide.

The incident occurred on January 24 in Ramakunja village. Moksh (17), son of Vasanth Ameen and Jayashree, residents of Paade in Ramakunja, died from a gunshot wound at their home. Initial reports had suggested that Moksh died after turning the gun on himself following a domestic dispute.

However, a subsequent medical examination has now confirmed that Moksh’s father, Vasanth Ameen, also sustained a gunshot injury. According to police, when the case first came to light, it was reported that Moksh had stabbed his father in the abdomen with a knife during a family quarrel and later used his father’s licensed SBBL gun to shoot himself.

Vasanth Ameen was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru. Detailed medical tests have now established that the injury to his abdomen was caused by a bullet and not by a knife, as initially believed. He has since recovered and been discharged from the hospital.

Police have stated that the forensic report from FSL Bengaluru is still awaited. The case will be concluded after the report is received.

It may be recalled that Moksh’s mother, Jayashree, had earlier lodged a complaint alleging that her husband Vasanth had murdered their son. With these new revelations from the medical report, significant new angles have emerged in the case. Police said the exact motive and sequence of events will become clear only after the forensic report is submitted.
