Rajyotsava Award for Harekala Hajabba

Mangalore, Oct 31, 2013 : Harekala Hajabba, the poor man from Harekala who sells oranges on Mangalore streets and nurtured and realized big dreams of opening  a school in his village, is one among the 58  achievers who have been selected for the prestigious Rajyotsava Awards this year.

Others from the undivided DK district who have been selected for the Awards are :  P Mohammad of Padubidri(cartoonist), Sadashiva Salian( Sports), Sundernath Suvarna (films), Shashidhar Adapa (Theatre), KM Raghava Nambiar (Yakshagana) and K.P. Rao (Udupi).

Narayana Hasyagara Nellikatte (Yakshagana) of Kasargod too is one of those who have been selected for the coveted award.
