Rains uproot old tree, damage two electric poles

Mangalore, Jun 17: The heavy rains of the past two days uprooted an old tree on Kalpana Road on June 17, Friday at 3:30 p.m. The tree fell on two electric poles leading to power failure in Vas Lane and its surroundings.

 

 

 

The fire fighting personnel from Pandeshwar arrived on the stop immediately to clear the tree. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Mescom officials also arrived on the spot to help the fire fighting personnel clear the area. The police set up barricades and diverted traffic from the area.

Corporator Naveen D’Souza said that power supply was restored at the earliest possible and that traffic movement got back to normal
