The rain destroyed several houses and claimed one life. Mohammed (18) was struck by lightening in Venoor in Belthangady.

Hundreds of devotees, who were taking part in the hore kanike procession to Kudroli Temple, were caught in the rains. The weather, which was pleasant when the procession began at Nehru Maidan, turned cloudy and rainy when the procession reached Lady Hill.
