Rai takes on Nalin over ’fire’ remark; says action will be taken

Mangaluru, Jan 2, 2017:  : DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai has  come down heavily on MP Nalin Kumar for his `fire’ statement during a protest at Konaje on Sunday and described it as a politically motivated statement aimed at diverting the attention of the public.

 

Speaking to reporters at the District Congress Office on January 2, Monday, Rai said he has already spoken to the Home Minister drawing his attention to the MP’s statement and added that necessary action would be taken against the MP as per the law.

He further stated that issuing such inflammatory statements, that too in a protest in front of the police station, poses a challenge to the administration.

Rai said that he was pained over Karthik Raj murder as also the murders of RTI activist Vinayak  Baliga and Harish Poojary. Those who bail out the accused in murder cases and the lawyers who take up their cases too are condemnable, said Rai.
