Rahim Uchil assault case – two more arrested

Mangalore, Aug 5, 2012:   With the arrest of two more people in connection with the attempt to murder Rahim Uchil, president of the Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy, the number of people arrested by the city police in connection with this case has become five.

The arrested are Abdul Basheer (27) of Suratkal and Hameed alias Saddam (21) of Kodikal who were absconding so far. 

It may be recalled that a group of miscreants had assaulted Rahim Uchil in the academy office in Attavar on March 15. Earlier, the police had arrested Umar Farooq (20) of BC Road, Abdul Saleem (33) of Bunder, and Mohammed Rafique (28) of Ullal. Rahim was in hospital for 2 months and only recently got back to work.
