Rachana confers Awards on 5 distinguished achievers

Mangalore, Nov 18, 2013 : Rachana Awards were conferred on five achievers  at a function held at Milagres Jubilee Hall on November 17, Sunday. The Awards instituted by Rachana, a forum of Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry were conferred by  Union Minister for Transport, Roads and Highways Oscar Fernandes.

 

 

 

Rohan Monteiro of Rohan Corporation  received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award while  former hockey player Jacqueline Colaco  was conferred with the Outstanding Woman of the Year Award. Prof Edmund Frank received the Agriculturist of the Year Award while  scientist Dr Stanislaus F D’Souza got the Professional of the Year Award.Dubai-based industrialist Lawrence Mendonca  was conferred the NRI Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Speaking after conferring the awards, Union Minister Oscar congratulated Rachana for its efforts in promoting  and encouraging talents in various fields and for its works towards the betterment of the society.

Mangalore Bishop Rev. Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza blessed the occasion. MLA JR Lobo and Dr Shantharam Shetty  also spoke on the occasion.

The Awardees also shared their experiences and thanked Rachana for conferring the Awards on them.
