Puttur illegal cattle transport case: Charge memo issued to inspector

Puttur, Oct 25, 2025: The District Police Superintendent has announced that a charge memo will be issued to the Inspector of Puttur Rural Police Station in connection with an illegal cattle transport case near Bellichadavu, Eshwaramangala.

 

 

Following the incident, Arun Kumar Puttill arrived at the scene and noticed that one animal had died and was concerned about the remaining animals. He asked if the surviving animals could be taken down safely. Subsequently, when a constable informed the inspector over the phone, Arun Kumar spoke directly to the inspector via his mobile and received approval.

However, the inspector erred by allowing the crime scene to be politicized without taking precautionary measures. As a result of this lapse in judgment, the charge memo will be issued to the inspector, according to the official statement.
