Puttur: Youth arrested for harassing college student

Puttur, Sept 10, 2025: A youth has been arrested by the Bellenje police in connection with a case of harassment of a college student. The accused has been identified as Uday, a resident of Perlampady.

A few days ago, the student had lodged a complaint stating that while she was returning home, a man on a bike harassed her. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and examined around 15 CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of the incident. Through the footage, they were able to trace the bike’s registration number. Acting on this evidence, the police team arrested the accused, Uday.
