Puttur: Two women brutally assaulted

Puttur, Aug 23, 2023: Two women were brutally assaulted by an acquaintance at Badagannur in Puttur taluk. Both the injured women have been admitted to a hospital in Puttur and are being treated in the ICU.

 

The injured are Sulekha and Girija who was a helper in Sulekha’s house. Both women were engaged in some work in a hilly area when a distant relative Suresh Naika tried to strangulate Sulekha all of a sudden. He even attacked Girija who rushed to the rescue of Sulekha.

Ravichandra, a relative of Sulekha in his complaint lodged with the police alleged that Suresh committed the act with a view to elicit information on the cash and jewels in her house.

Puttur Rural Police have registered a case.
