Puttur Tahsildar’s bail plea rejected in corruption case

Mangaluru, Sep 27, 2025: The Third Additional District and Sessions (Special) Court in Mangaluru has rejected the anticipatory bail application of Puttur Tahsildar S. B. Kudlagi in connection with a corruption case.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, had been registered against First Division Assistant (FDA) Sunil Kumar S. M. of Puttur Taluk Office and Tahsildar Kudlagi. During a Lokayukta trap operation, Sunil Kumar was arrested and later released on bail, while Tahsildar Kudlagi has been absconding.

In this context, Kudlagi had filed an anticipatory bail plea, which was dismissed by Judge Smt. Sunitha S. G. after a detailed hearing. The information was shared in a press release by Lokayukta Superintendent of Police, Mangaluru, Kumar Chandra.

Special Public Prosecutor Ravindra Munnippady argued the case on behalf of the Lokayukta.
