Puttur: Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by car

Puttur, Sep 24, 2025: A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a car while crossing the road on Wednesday morning in Sampya village, Aryapu, Puttur taluk, on the Mangalore–Mysuru National Highway.

The injured, 58-year-old Abdul Rahiman of Puttur Sampya, was given first aid at Medland Hospital in Sampya before being referred to a hospital in Mangaluru for further treatment.

According to reports, Abdul Rahiman had parked his scooter near the Sampya mosque and was crossing the road when a car coming from the opposite direction struck him. The impact threw him onto the road, causing serious injuries.

Puttur Rural Police have registered a case regarding the incident.
