
Puttur, May 17, 2024: Family members of a man who died at a private hospital in Puttur where he was admitted for treatment of fever, have lodged a complaint at Puttur town police station alleging that medical negligence caused the death.

Krishnappa Gowda (47), a resident of Kakkepadavu Pilibail of Bantwal taluk was admitted to the private hospital at Darbe in Puttur as he was suffering from fever. The doctor who examined the patient said he had a tumour under his tongue and that it has to be removed through surgery.
However Gowda had died after surgery, leading to anguish among his relatives and family members who gathered in front of the hospital and alleged that negligence of the doctor resulted in his death.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem to a hospital in Derlakatte.
Puttur Town Police are investigating the case.
