Puttur: Man arrested for stealing 10-kg copper bell

Puttur, Aug 11, 2025:  Puttur Town Police have arrested a man accused of stealing a 10-kg copper bell worth around ₹8,000.

The arrested accused has been identified as Shamsuddin alias Shamsu (50), a resident of Kabaka. The theft took place on July 26, 2025, and was registered at Puttur Town Police Station under Crime No. 63/2025, Section 303(2) of BNS 2023.

During investigation, police took Shamsuddin into custody in connection with the case. He is also an accused in an earlier case (Crime No. 83/2004) registered at the same police station under Sections 454 and 380 of the IPC.
