Puttur: Lightning strike destroys house in Bedral, five injured including child

Puttur, Oct 20, 2025: A lightning strike during heavy rain and strong winds on Sunday evening completely damaged a house in Bedral village, Narimogaru, Puttur taluk, leaving five people, including a child, with minor injuries.

The house, belonging to Dayananda Mulya, suffered extensive damage as the tiled roof was shattered, walls partially collapsed, and cement sheets in one section were broken. A nearby electricity transformer is believed to have contributed to the intensity of the lightning strike.

The family members sustained minor injuries from falling debris and were admitted to Puttur hospital for treatment.
