Puttur: KSRTC bus crashes into house compound after brake failure

Puttur, Aug 26, 2026: A KSRTC bus lost control after its brakes reportedly failed and crashed into the compound wall of a house near Darbe in Puttur on Wednesday morning.

The bus was travelling from Puttur towards Kumbra. At around 8 am, after crossing Darbe Circle and reaching near St Philomena College, the brakes reportedly failed, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The bus veered off the road and travelled around 50 feet before crashing into the compound of a house.

No injuries or major damage were reported in the incident. The bus was reportedly carrying only a small number of passengers at the time. It was later removed from the spot with the help of a crane.
