Puttur: Girl sexually molested in bus; accused arrested

Puttur, Oct 29, 2023: A 40-year-old man sexually harassed a girl in KSRTC bus on Saturday. The police of Puttur Women’s Station arrested the accused and registered a case under the POCSO Act.

 

Udaya Edapadavu(40) was accused of sexually harassing the girl, who was traveling from Mani to Puttur. After she informed the passengers of the bus about this, the passengers stopped him from getting down in the middle of the road.

Then the bus came directly to the police station and the accused was taken into custody by the police from the bus itself.

As the news of this incident spread, some youth gathered in front of Mahila Police Station and demanded appropriate legal action against the accused.
