Puttur: Four arrested in inter-state theft case

Puttur, Aug 27, 2026: Puttur Rural Police have arrested four persons in connection with an inter-state theft case.

The arrested have been identified as Abdul Sayil J (25) and Mohammed Aseeq (25), Mohammed Siraj (28), all residents of Kasaragod, Kerala, and Shakthivel G (24), a resident of Karur, Tamil Nadu, police said.

Police have seized the stolen car and the motorcycle allegedly used by the accused to commit the theft.

During interrogation, the accused reportedly revealed that they had stolen the car, taken it to Kerala and later sold it in Tamil Nadu. The vehicle was subsequently converted into an ambulance in Tamil Nadu, police said.

Police also said that theft cases have been registered against the accused at Badiyadka and Vidyanagar police stations in Kerala.

The accused were produced before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody.
