Puttur: Five arrested for smuggling deer horns

Puttur, Jan 29, 2014: The Sampya Police and the Forest Department personnel have in a joint operation detected a case of smuggling deer horns in a car  at Santyar on Sullia Road on January 28, Tuesday. Five persons have been arrested. Three pair of deer horns,a  car  and five mobile sets have been seized from them.

 

Those arrested are  Abdul Nazeer (27) of Neermarga, Mohammad Anis(19) of Tokur Jokatte, Harris Mohammad (33) of Ullal,  Dolon Avinash Cardoza(22) of Meramajalu in Bantwal and Mohammad Ibatulla Kaushik(20), the car driver from Gurupur.

The Police have submitted a report to the Court seeking action against the accused under Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
