Puttur: Cops book youth for cheating classmate after impregnating her

Puttur, June 25, 2025: Police have registered a case against a youth on the charges of cheating a young woman after impregnating her. It is learnt, the youth developed physical relationship with the girl who is his classmate after promising to marry her.

As per the complaint lodged by the victim at the women’s police station, a case of rape and cheating  has been registered against the youth.

The accused has been identified as P G Krishna J Rao (21), son of BJP leader and sculptor P G Jagannivas Rao of Bappalige in Puttur.

The young pair was reportedly in love since several years. In the meantime, the accused had invited the girl to his house when other family members were away and developed physical relationship with her.

However after the man realized that the girl was pregnant he evaded her and refused to marry following which the victim lodged a complaint.

The accused is presently absconding and the police have launched a hunt for him.
