Puttur: 15 year old student commits suicide

Puttur, June 12, 2023: A 15 year old girl student from Kokkada who was residing at a hostel at Padil has committed suicide by consuming poison on June 11.

 

The deceased is Rekha, daughter of Sridhar Acharya and late Pushpa of Kokkada village. Rekha’s mother had passed away last year. Her father was a labourer. It is learnt, Rekha was agonized after her mother’s death and was initially staying at a relative’s house from where she used to attend school at Kokkada.

Recently she was admitted to Padil Hostel. The girl had initially refused to join the hostel but had later joined reluctantly. A case has been registered at Puttur Town police station.
