Puttur: 1 dead, many injured as private bus rams into stationed Hitachi

Puttur, June 16, 2025: One person died and several passengers were injured after the private bus in which they were travelling rammed into a stationed Hitachi at Lavathadka near Nelyady on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru NH late night on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Shankernarayana Bhat of Karkala. The private sleeper bus was on way to Bengaluru from Mangaluru when the mishap took place.

The front portion of the bus was badly mangled due to the impact of the collision. Nelyady police have registered a case.
