Puneeth Rajkumar launches ’Clean Mangalore’ campaign

Mangalore, Feb 19: Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar launched a “Clean Mangalore” drive jointly initiated by the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) and Malabar Gold at TMA Pai Convention Hall on Feb 19, Friday.

Calling Mangalore an educational hub that is highly developed in the banking and service sectors, the movie star said that the city ought to be lauded for its immense contributions to the state.


Mayor Shankar Bhat appreciated Malabar Gold for rendering support to the cleanliness drive and said that MCC and Malabar Gold will initiate the cleanliness campaign through the media and through direct house-to-house campaign, planting trees, and a Mangalore City Green Marathon.


He claimed that nobody can stop Mangalore from looking clean and beautiful if any company or organization devotes just 1 percent of its time and resources to the cleanliness drive.


Regional Director of Malabar Group Jaleel E provided a brief history of the company and said that the Malabar Charitable Trust, formed as a part of the corporate social initiative, has provided free medication to more than 1.2 lakh people and helped construct 1,600 houses for the poor.


MLA U T Khader, Chairman of Malabar Group M P Ahmed, Principal Consultant of B2 Media Public Relation S Sunder Iyer, and Director of Mangalore Branch Subair were also present for the programme.
