Punarukare School celebrates golden jubilee

Belman, 27 February 2012: Shri Vidyaprasanna Teertha Swamiji of Kukke Shri Subrahmanya Mutt inaugurated the golden jubilee celebrations of Punarukare School and a new building called Suvarna Soudha.

 

 

 

 

 

In his inaugural address, he said that children in rural areas, who are not influenced by TV, Internet, movies, and mobile phones, are rich in human values and urged parents of rural kids to be proud of their children. He also appreciated rural children’s ability to speak grammatically correct language.

The present and the retired teaching staff of the school, donors, and old students were felicitated on this occasion.

Kodimaru Vittala Tantri presided over the event. The chief guests of the occasion were Shailaja Hegde, the education coordinator of Belman Zone; Sumati Rao Madkumane, the president of the former taluk panchayat; and S. V. Ganapathi Bhat, the president of the Shirva PU College.

Headmistress Vasanthibhai delivered the welcome and introductory address. Devdas Patkar, one of the teachers, read the annual report. Pilar Sudhakara Shenoy was the MC.
