Mangaluru, September 14, 2025: The Kudroli Jamia Masjid Administrative Committee, Muslim Unity Forum Kudroli, and Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Mangaluru, organized an open day on Sunday, giving the public an opportunity to visit the mosque. The event, which began at noon, welcomed people of all faiths and will remain open until 7 p.m.
Inaugurating the programme, Dakshina Kannada District Religious Council member Lakshmeesh Gabladka described the initiative as “a vision of divinity,” adding, “Even though we close our eyes during prayer, it opens our inner eyes.”
Fr. Valerian D’Souza of Holy Rosary Church said the essence of all religions lies in mutual love. “Everyone should be familiar with the practices of temples, mosques, and churches. This is a new step inspired by God. Such steps should not stop here but continue, helping people to understand each other and live in harmony,” he said.
Legislative Council member Ivan D’Souza, Bunts Yane Nadavara Mathr Sangha president Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi, Kudroli Shri Gokarnanath Temple president Jayaraj H., UAE Mogaveera Sangha president Lokesh Putran, Bengare Mahasabha president Chetan Bengare and Baraka International School principal B.S. Sharfuddin extended their greetings.
The programme was presided over by Kudroli Jamia Masjid president K.S. Muhammad Masood. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Mangaluru North president Ishaq Puttur delivered a prophetic message. Kudroli Khazi Mufti Sheikh Mutahhar Hussain Qasmi, Shah Amir Masjid’s Khatib Riaz-ul-Haq Rashadi, former corporator Abubakar, Abdul Aziz and others were present.
The event featured a Quran recitation by Maulana Shafiullah, with translation read by Asif Hussain. K.M. Ashraf welcomed the gathering and Muhammad Ali Kammaradi compered the proceedings.
