Protest against toll gate: Court summons to 101 activists

Mangaluru, May 03, 2024: As many as 101 people who had picketed the toll gate which was functioning near NITK at Suratkal, have been served a court summons and have been directed to appear before the court on May 4.

 

Several activists of the Toll Gate Action Committee had picketed the toll gate in November 2022 and police had then arrested over 250 activists.

In connection with this protest a case was filed against 101 people including Congress leader Mithun Rai, Action Committee Convener Muneer Katipalla and others under different sections.

In October 2023 the Suratkal police had filed a charge sheet at the JMFC Court of Mangaluru following which a summons has been issued.
