Prasad Attavar is innocent: Pramod Muthalik

Mangalore, Mar 9:  Shri Rama Sene (SRS) Chief Pramod Muthalik visited Prasad Attavar in jail on March 9, Tuesday, and declared that he is innocent. Kadri police had arrested Attavar on grounds of his association with underworld don Ravi Poojary.

Muthalik informed media people that he had faith in the judiciary and was certain that Attavar’s innocence will soon be established. He also said that Attavar’s arrest is a conspiracy to curb Hindutva activities, adding that the truth will be revealed as soon as Attavar is released. 

Reliable sources in the jail said that Muthalik’s visit lasted nearly half an hour. Rama Sene activists state that Attavar told Muthalik that he had been framed by the police. 

Shri Rama Sene sources also revealed that Muthalik had arrived in Mangalore to meet Prasad Attavar as well as to participate in a programme. Muthalik spoke to the jailer as well as other officials. He also intends to hold a meeting with local activists and leaders about Prasad’s arrest. 

Kadri police arrested Prasad Attavar on March 1, Monday and produced him before the court on March 2, Tuesday. Attavar was remanded to 15 days of judicial custody.
