Pramod Madhwaraj, Rajendra Kumar to face action for poll code violation

Udupi, April 7, 2013:  Udupi Deputy  Commissioner MT Reju has informed that  the Udupi Block Congress President Pramod Madhwaraj who is the Congress candidate from Udupi  and SCDCC Bank Chairman MN Rajendra Kumar have been booked for violation of election code of conduct.

The Udupi DC who is also the election officer said there is a complaint that both had violated the poll code during the District Congress Convention held on March 31 by stating that a god coin will be given  to SHGs in villages where Congress wins.

The DC said the two have been booked under Section 123 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and also IPC Section 171B against both after investigation conducted by Udupi tahsildar.
