Bantwal, Oct 5, 2013 : Government hospitals are known for their host of inadequacies. In one such incident that revealed the poor state of affairs at the government hospital at Bantwal, a nurse is learnt to have sent back a patient who was supposed to be given an injection, for want of a syringe. She then asked him to get a syringe for himself from a medical store.
The incident took place on October 3, Thursday. The agitated patient soon brought the matter to the notice of Health Minister UT Khader through his relatives. The Minister immediately contacted the hospital authorities and questioned why there were no syringes in the hospital when enough grants were released.
Later, the taluk medical officers made arrangements for supply of syringes to the hospital at the instructions of the district medical officer.
