Polytechnic students stage protest against cancellation of carry over system

Mangalore, July 16, 2013 : The Polytechnic students of Dakshina Kannada district are up in arms against the Vishweshwaraiah Technological University for  cancelling the carry over system. On July 16, Tuesday, they staged a protest in front of the DC office against the decision of the University.

 

 

 Dinaker Shetty, State President of Polytechnic Students’ Union who spoke on the occasion accused the VTU for playing with the future of the students. He said the decision of the VTU will prevent nearly 80 per cent of the students from attending classes as  a student  who has more than four backlogs cannot attend classes the next year, until the number of backlogs is less than four.

 They demanded implementation of carry over system.Uttam Shetty, District President of the Union and other office bearers participated in the protest.
