Polishing the Pen: Ladyhill School teachers master the craft of Report Writing

Mangaluru, September 19, 2025: Ladyhill English Medium Higher Primary School (ICSE), Urwa, hosted a hands-on workshop on Report Writing and Media Reporting on September 17, 2025. The session was conducted by Mr. Mahesh Nayak, Executive Editor of Mangalore Today English News Portal and Monthly Magazine.

Thirty-six teachers participated with zeal as Mr. Nayak demystified the art of drafting media releases—ranging from press communiqués to event news—and stressed their role in building trust and transparency. He guided the teachers through the anatomy of a news report, from headline to conclusion, emphasizing accuracy, brevity, and clarity.

 

 

The workshop was highly interactive, with teachers drafting spot reports in groups, followed by analysis and discussion. Questions were encouraged, making the session lively and enriching.

The program was presided over by Principal Sr. Jenifer Moras A.C., compered by Miss Akanksha, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Miss Sahana.

The training equipped teachers with professional skills to mentor students in effective report writing and to bring finesse into academic communication.
