Mangaluru, Jul 24, 2021: Police dog Sudha which had helped the Police Department here crack several cases, died on July 24, Saturday morning. She was laid to rest with full state honours at the Police grounds in the city in the presence of City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar and other police officials.
Sudha’s body was draped in a white cloth and was bedecked with flowers. City Police Commissioner Shashi Kumar, DCP Hariram Shanker and other officials and personnel paid tributes to Sudha.
After the dog was buried, a Tulsi sapling was planted in the place.
Sudha of Doberman Pinscher breed was born on March 15, 2011 and had joined the service of Police Department on April 2, 2012. She was known for her agility. Sandeep who was taking care of Sudha right since she was three months old, was in tears as he bade farewell to her. Incidentally Sandeep’s recently purchased two-wheeler also has Sudha’s name written on it.
The Police Commissioner said Sudha had a tumour in her chest since five months and was being treated for the same. She was fine till recently but her health deteriorated all of a sudden, he added.
