Police dept pays last respects to constable killed in road mishap

 Mangalore, April 6, 2013:  Shivarajappa, Constable of Coastal Security Force, who was killed in a tragic road mishap at the  Bappanadu Check post in the early hours of April 5, Friday, was given a guard of honour  on behalf of the Mangalore Police Commissionerate at the Commissionerate office premises on  Friday afternoon.

IGP Western Range Pratap Reddy, Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar, SP Abhishek Goel, Kavitha, Jagannath, ACPs, Mutturaya, DCP Crime and several other police officials laid wreaths and offered their last respect to their departed colleague.

The family members of Shivarajappa  including his wife Manjula, her parents and other relatives, took the body  in a police vehicle to the deceased constable’s hometown in Honnali of Davangere for the final rites.

IGP Pratap Reddy who spoke to the grief stricken family members of the constable, assured all help and support from the police department. A cheque was also handed over to the family as an immediate compensation to the family.
