
Mangaluru, November 5, 2023: The individual, known as Chandrasekhar, also called Darling Chandra, aged 29 and from Bidadi Hobli, Ramanagara District, was apprehended near Bangra Kuloor on November 4, according to police reports.
The incident in question took place on October 21, where two unidentified persons forcefully took a mangalsutra from a woman’s neck on Bejai Church Main Road, within the jurisdiction of Mangalore East Police Station. Subsequently, a specialized team from the Mangalore CCB unit was deployed to pursue the perpetrators.

The police detailed that upon arrest, the accused had in possession a 21.3-gram gold karimani chain, a VIVO mobile phone, a HERO keypad mobile phone, and a Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 Motorcycle. The combined estimated worth of the seized items amounts to Rs. 2,41,000/-.
Reportedly, Darling Chandra has a criminal record with cases involving extortion, murder, attempted murder, and assault registered against him in several police stations, including Harohalli, Kumblagodu, and Bidadi in Ramanagara District, as well as Dabus Pette and Nelamangala Rural Police Stations in Bengaluru Rural District.
