Police arrest 5, rescue 17 buffaloes

Mangalore,Aug 5, 2012:The police arrested 5 people and seized 17 buffaloes early in the morning of August 5 at the Bappanadu Check Post. 

The arrested are Alex, Chayi, Anthony, Ramesh, and Rafiq, all from Kerala.

The police inspected a vehicle that was used to illegally transport 17 buffaloes from Kerala to Udupi at 4:00 a.m. Bashir Ahmed, inspector of police for Mulky, guided the raid.
