Police Issue Notice to Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat in 2025 Murder Case

Mangaluru, Sep 27, 2026: Bantwal Rural Police have issued a notice to RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, directing him to appear and record his statement in connection with the murder of 32-year-old Abdul Rahiman in Bantwal taluk on May 27, 2025.

Police said Bhat’s statement is yet to be recorded and is required to verify certain facts that emerged during the investigation. “After recording his statement, the chargesheet will be submitted before the competent court,” police said.

The notice directed Bhat to appear at his residence on Saturday for questioning. However, Bhat has reportedly sought one month’s time, citing prior commitments, to appear before the police and record his statement.

The case was registered at Bantwal Rural Police Station and remains under investigation.

Meanwhile, Mangaluru City North MLA Bharath Y Shetty criticised the notice, alleging that the state government was targeting prominent RSS leaders to divert public attention from other issues.

Shetty alleged that Home Minister Priyank Kharge was targeting the RSS out of political animosity and claimed that the notice was an attempt to tarnish the organisation’s image.
