Platinum jubilee of Casa Gaia Convent celebrated

Mangalore, Dec 19: The sisters of Casa Gaia Convent, located at Angelore, celebrated the platinum jubilee of the convent on Dec 18, Saturday.

The Holy Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Ronnie Prabhu as the main celebrant with Fr. Victor D’Silva, Fr. William Barochas, Fr. Dennis Rasquinha, Fr. Stany B. Lobo, Fr. Stany Goveas, and Fr. Gratian Alvares concelebrating.

After the mass, the convent’s former superiors Sr. Mathilda D’Almeida, Sr. Emily Lobo, Sr. Rose Alexander, Sr. Florine Nazareth, Sr. Blanche Pinto, and two helpers Monthy and Magdaline were honored by Provincial Sr. Irene Jane. Superior Sr. Carmine delivered the welcome address and Sr. Ann Rose compered the programme.

This convent was established for the benefit of old and sick sisters of the congregation of the Sisters of Charity by Sr. Esther Picciali, the former provincial.
