Pilikula tiger kills worker

Mangalore, Aug 1, 2012 : A worker at Pilikula Nisargadhama was killed by a tiger late in the night of July 31, Tuesday. The deceased is Kushalappa Gowda, who used to feed the animals at Pilikula.

 

Reportedly, the tiger Raja was not feeling well, and on the afternoon of July 31, veterinary doctors had examined him and given him medicines.

Kushalappa, who visited Raja’s cage at 11:00 p.m. to see if he was alright, never returned. When the watchman went to the cage to find out what had happened to Mr. Gowda, he saw that the tiger was outside the cage. He immediately raised an alarm.

The tiger had killed Mr. Gowda by biting him on his neck.
