Pick-up overturns after tyre burst on Somwarpet–Madikeri highway; driver, workers injured

Madikeri, Nov 26, 2025: A pick-up vehicle overturned after a tyre burst on the Somwarpet–Madikeri state highway on Tuesday, November 25, injuring the driver and several workers.

The driver, Ravi, sustained serious injuries to his waist, while worker Babu and another labourer from Assam suffered leg injuries. Two others received minor injuries. All the injured have been admitted to the district hospital in Madikeri.

The incident was recorded on a nearby building’s CCTV camera, and a case has been registered at the Somwarpet police station.
