Perdur: Class 10 boy drowns while swimming in stream

Hiriyadka, Nov 11, 2025: A 15-year-old boy drowned while swimming in the Madisalu stream near Alangaru in Perdur.

The deceased has been identified as Sreeshanth Shetty (15), a resident of Alangaru, Perdur. It is learned that on Sunday afternoon, Sreeshanth went swimming in the stream with his neighbour Naveen, travelling there on a scooter.

While swimming, Sreeshanth accidentally drowned. Naveen, who was with him, reportedly did not inform anyone about the incident.

When Sreeshanth did not return home, his family began searching for him, and his body was found around 5 p.m. on Monday in the Madisalu stream.

Sreeshanth was a Class 10 student at Karnataka Public School, Hiriyadka. A case has been registered at the Hiriyadka Police Station.
