Penumbral lunar eclipse- Celestial treat for sky gazers

Mangalore, Apr 26, 2013: Penumbral lunar eclipse that occurred between 1.24 am to 1.53 am on April 26, Friday, offered a celestial treat to sky gazers.

 

 

This was the first lunar eclipse of the year 2013.  Only a small portion of the moon was obscured by earth’s umbral shadow in the partial eclipse.

Special poojas were held in various temples across the district which were flooded by devotees. The next lunar eclipse will occur on May 10.
