Passenger arrested at MIA with gold worth Rs 98 lakhs concealed in rectum

Mangaluru, Jan 09, 2024: Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport have arrested a passenger who was found in possession of gold worth Rs 98.68 lakhs. The passenger had concealed the gold in his rectum.

 

The accused had arrived by an Air India Express flight from Abu Dhabi on January 8. The officials who grew suspicious  intercepted him and on examination found  gold paste in 5 oval shapes concealed in his rectum. The gold weighed 1,579 grams.
