Parivarthana Sabhe in Mangaluru : Names of 1,256 dropped from rowdy sheeter list

Mangaluru, Dec 16, 2021: The names of as many as 1,256  people were removed from the rowdy sheeters list in the City Police Commissionerate  limits on December 16, Thursday.

The occasion was a Parivarthana Sabhe or Transformation meet held at the T V Raman Pai  Convention Centre in the  city   with the objective of giving a second chance to many whose name were in the rowdy sheeter list. The names were removed from the list after an intense screening of the behaviour of the persons concerned.

Speaking on the occasion, City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said the names of 1,256 people were removed from the rowdy sheeter list after  series of  meetings in order to give them a chance to lead a good and respectful life. He said there are a total 3,263 names in the list in the city. Cases relating to 663 of them are closed  while as many as 80 are elderly people and  513 have remained away from criminal activities. The names of all these have been removed from the list, the Commissioner said.

AJ Shetty, Chairman of AJ Group of Institutions, Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, Administrator of Fr Muller Medical College Hospital, Habeeb Rehman, Chairman and Managing Director of Unity Hospital were present as chief guests.
