Parashurama theme park row: HC stays case against Congress leaders

Karkala, April 11, 2024: The state High Court has stayed the proceedings against Congress leaders of Karkala who faced a case in connection with a video related to the alleged irregularities in the Parashurama Theme Park at Bailur in Karkala.

Last year, a video of some Congress leaders holding pieces of fibre said to be from the Parashurama statue, was circulated on social media. The Erlapady GP President Sunil Hegde had lodged a complaint at Karkala Town Police Station in this regard. In his complaint he had named four persons including Congress leaders Shubada Rao who is a councillor, former TMC President Subith Kumar, former member Vivekananda Shenoy and Ivan Miranda.

They were booked under IPC Section 442, 505 (2) and 34.

The Congress leaders had moved the High Court against the case registered against them and the High Court has now issued a stay.
