Pandeshwar police arrest girl posing as doctor to extract money

Mangalore, Dec13, 2011 : A girl, who used to extract money from gullible patients by pretending to be a doctor at Fr. Muller Hospital, was arrested on Dec 13 Tuesday.

On police interrogation, the girl said that she is Aishwarya Rai from Vittal and has done her I PUC at a Mulleria-based college.

 

 

 

 

According to hospital sources, the girl used to appear at Fr. Muller College wearing a doctor’s coat and stethoscope, examining patients and collecting fees from them. A doctor on duty got suspicious when he saw her receiving Rs. 500 from a patient. He immediately alerted security and it was found that she was not a doctor, but a fraud.

Relatives of a few patients confirmed that she had received money from them and that she had started coming to the hospital last week.

The Pandeshwar police are investigating the case.
