Panchayatraj Act Amendment Bill undemocratic : Nalin Kumar Kateel

Bantwal, July 12,  2013 :  The Congress government through the Panchayatraj Act Amendment Bill intends to curtail the rights of the Panchayat members, alleged Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP.

He was addressing  the agitators participating in a protest organised by the party in front of the Bantwal taluk office at BC Road on July 11, Thursday, opposing the Bill.

Continuing, Nalin termed the Bill as against democratic principles. He also alleged that there was a spate of crime including thefts and   rapes during the Congress regime.

Former minister Kota Srinivas Poojari also spoke. Several BJP leaders including Padmanabha Kottari, District BJP President, Monappa Bhandari, MLC. Sulochana Bhat, State BJP Vice President, and others participated in the protest.

Later, they submitted a memorandum to the state governor through the Tahsildar.
