Palemar accused of covering up facts in affidavit

Mangalore, May 4, 2013: Srinivas Salian, Managing Trustee of Vidya Education Trust, has alleged that Mangalore North BJP candidate and sitting MLA Krishna Palemar had   failed to furnish information regarding a criminal case registered against him, in  the affidavit furnished to the Election Commission.

Speaking to reporters here,  Salian alleged that Palemar  while starting his Land Links venture in 2000 had taken the Vidya Education Trust members into confidence and soon after manipulating deeds declared himself as President of the Trust and his family members as Trustees and also claimed that it was a Family Trust. He also charged Palemar of misusing the properties of the Trust worth several crores of rupees.

 

Salian said though a case was pending against Palemar in this regard in the High Court, the latter had failed to mention the same in the affidavit. He said the case was likely to come up for hearing on May 4 and the court may  ask for  registering of a criminal case.

Salian also stated that despite his complaint to the Election Commission, no action followed.
